Let’s face it, it was definitely about time that Apple updated the Apple TV and thankfully they did just that today with the introduction of a new version of the Apple TV, called the Apple TV 4K, which is capable of delivering content at 4K HDR, via support for HDR 10 and Dolby Vision.

It features the A10X chip, which is more than 2x more performant in terms of CPU speeds, 4x faster for the GPU.

It will also use the latest version of tvOS, with integration into Apple’s iTunes Store, which will automatically upgrade you already purchased titles to the new 4K HDR format.

They are also going to launch new live sports content, which will allow you to watch games live and even get notified about upcoming ones.

Of course, there’s also going to be a lot of new gaming content for the Apple TV, with new games that take advantage of the new hardware and abilities.

It will be available for order on September 14th and it will ship shortly after on September 22nd.
