According to rumours, Apple may soon be overhauling its Apple Music website, with details said to be expected during this year’s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC), it is expected that the new version of the streaming service will be rolled out along with iOS 10 in September.

Ahead of that time, Apple has announced a new discount for students.

This new discount provides students with 50% off the price of the music streaming service.

It is available in the US, UK, Australia, Germany, New Zealand, Ireland and Denmark for all eligible students, it is priced at $4.99 with the discount or $9.99 normally in the US, and £4.99 with the discount of £9.99 normally in the UK.

To qualify students will need to be enrolled in a college or university, if that is true then the discount will be available for four years after they sign up.

Apple hopes that this may help them gain subscribers from other services like Spotify, the last time Apple revealed numbers for the service, they revealed that the service currently has 13 million paid subscribers, however, that is still less than Spotify.
