Ever forgot the passcode to your iPhone on a night out, or worried about someone hacking it, well Apple have just patented a new technology that could end your woes.

The new patent was revealed U.S Patent and Trademark Office who granted the two-step unlock screen patent, that uses a fingerprint reader placed in the bottom right corner of the device and used as one of the two verification’s.

Instead of the usual type in your passcode screen, the new patent will show a new prompt which asks the owner to place their thumb on top of the reader, which will according to PatentlyApple, will blend into the phone and change “between opaque and transparent configurations using a polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) window.”
