After news broke that Apple had filed for a trademark of the iWatch name in a number of countries including Russia and Japan, we thought that the name was more or less confirmed for the Apple made smartwatch.

However that may not still be the case as Cult of Mac have today reported a few things that may stop Apple in their tracks.

According to the site trademarks for the name in both the UK and the US are already owned by two companies.

In the US the iWatch trademark is owned by OMG Electronics LLC, who are using it to develop their iWatch Indiegogo project, and in the UK it is owned by Probendi Inc, who also reportedly own the trademark within Europe too.
