If you own a MacBook Pro then you’ll probably already know about the current problem, where the laptop has randomly shut down whilst you may be overloading the machine, most likely this has really annoyed you during the last few weeks, but we have some good news for you, Apple has an update for that!

The SMC Firmware update will be available for download over the internet, via the Software Update function on your MacBook, or if you rather you can download it from Apple’s website. The file is only 730KB but does promise to fix the problem with this update:

“This update resolves an issue where a MacBook Pro being used with a power adapter may unexpectedly shut down under heavy workload if the battery charge level is near empty.”
