Apple has today revealed the official sales figures for its new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones.

In the reveal they announced that so far they have sold a huge 10 million iPhone 6 smartphones in the first weekend of it being available, this is in a addition to the 4 million iPhone pre-orders in the first 24 hours announcement, meaning that Apple managed to sell another 6 million handset just a few days after.

“Sales for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus exceeded our expectations for the launch weekend, and we couldn’t be happier,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “We would like to thank all of our customers for making this our best launch ever, shattering all previous sell-through records by a large margin. While our team managed the manufacturing ramp better than ever before, we could have sold many more iPhones with greater supply and we are working hard to fill orders as quickly as possible.”

The only problem with these figures is that it doesn’t break down the difference between the sales figures for the iPhone 6, and the iPhone 6 Plus, and the 10 million figure is one that combines the sales for both of the sales.

However hopefully we might be able to see a broken down figure soon.
