Due to some recent complaints by Australian regulators, Apple has had to readjust the way they use the term “4G” as this has been seen to mislead customers into buying the new iPad because they think it would work on Australia’s LTE/ WiMAX networks, but it doesn’t as Apple has explained in a recent e-mail sent to Australian iPad customers who may think they have 4G capabilities on their new iPad.

In their e-mail Apple explains that the new iPad does not in fact support Australian LTW or WiMax networks, and instead supports other “fast cellular networks” including HSPA, HSPA+ and DC-HSDPA, as an offer of redemption Apple will also be allowing you to receive a full refund on your Australian iPad as long as it was purchased before the 28th of March.
