According to The Wall Street Journal, apple is currently in talks with Foursquare to integrate local data from the service into its mapping application, talks which have apparently been going on over recent weeks and include Apple’s senior vice president, Eddy Cue.

This is obviously a move Apple is planning to take in order to provide a more social and engaging service in order to fend of the Google Maps application, but is it one that will work?
