Apple just teased the release of a new iMac model called the iMac Pro, which they say will be the most powerful Mac ever made by Apple, while featuring a similar design to the normal iMac model.

Inside there’s an 8-core Xeon processor that can be upgraded to a 10-core or an 18-core processor if you prefer that, along with the introduction of AMD Radeon Vega graphics which is the latest from AMD with up 16GB of VRAM, and up to 11 teraflops of single GPU power or up to 22 teraflops of half precision development.

And it will come with up to 128GB of ECC memory and up to 4TB of 28Gb/s SSDs, a 10Gb Ethernet, along with all those new iMac features, including the 27-inch Retina 5K display that features 500 nits of brightness across 14.7 million pixels.

That display also has support for the P3 colour gamut.

And there are some new “enhanced stereo speakers” for ” broad frequency response, rich bass, and more volume”, along with new “advanced” thermal management for almost 75 percent more airflow and 80 percent more system thermal capacity than the previous iMac according to Apple.

Finally, a Mac that has modern specs, sadly, it’s not available yet.

It will go on sale in December for $4,999 in the US.
