According to the Wall Street Journal Apple will be adding some sort of subscription service to the Apple TV, this will bring more premium content to the service, WSJ explained that some sort subscription service will be released soon:  “Apple is working on new technology to deliver video to televisions, and has been discussing whether to try to launch a subscription TV service.”

This would be a sensible move by Apple as their TV already allows TV rentals, making this sort of service easy to implement as well as making the Apple TV a much more worthy buy in the consumer’s eyes, but Apple will have to work fast if they are to release subscriptions, as news this week shows Google to release it’s TV service here in the UK soon.

But as Apple did already try to launch this service back in 2009 due to disagreements with rights this could be unlikely, but it would be interesting to see how Tim Cook will far compare to Steve, but as with all rumors only, time will tell.

What do you think? Will Apple release their own subscription TV service? Do you own an Apple TV?
