Apple announced today that their next major mobile OS, iOS 8 will launch for the public on September 17th.

The new OS will be available for iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S, fifth-generation iPod Touch, iPad 2, iPad with Retina, iPar Air, iPad Mini, and iPad Mini with Retina from launch date, and will come with a number of new features too.

One of those new features is a new QuickType predictive text feature, which comes alongside improved Spotlight search, Shazam integration with Siri, Family Sharing for purchased apps, integration with iHealth, and a new overhauled.

Once iOS 8 becomes available to download users to can will get a notification, they can then update their phone manually via the Software Update section, which will update your phone via an internet connection over the air.

Users can also update through iTunes, simply plug-in your device and check for a new update in the Summary pane.
