Yesterday we found out that Apple will be hosting their own media event before the end of this month, but up to know we didn’t know what exactly this event could involve, thanks to information collected by MacRumors, we have found some more details.
From which we now know that they will be focusing on digital textbooks for the education sector, alongside some promotional videos which don;t exactly confirm a digital textbook attention, but they do lend themselves to a promotional speech.
The main reason we know that it is more likely to be focused away from hardware, as we have found out that the man leading the speech will be Eddy Cue, who was last involved in the launch of The Daily, which points towards the likelihood of some of the textbook media.
Alongside this MacRumors has also noted that in Steve Jobs’ biography, it was said that Steve had an overwhelming passion for revolutionizing the textbook industry, which you can guess will somehow involve the already established iBookstore:
In addition, as MacRumors points out, Walter Isaacson, who penned Steve Jobs’ biography, has said on many occasions that Jobs had a passion for finding a way to revolutionize the textbook industry.
“His idea was to hire great textbook writers to create digital versions and make them a feature of theiPad. In addition, he held meetings with major publishers, such as Pearson Education, about partnering with Apple.”
What do you think? Is this event for education textbooks?
