You might have read the title of this article and then thought, aren’t Garage Band and iMovie already free?

The answer to that question would be yes, well sort of.

Back in 2013, Apple made all of its iWork apps as well as both Garage Band and iMovie free to anyone who purchased a new iOS device or a new Mac machine.

The problem with that is that if you had an older device, you had no free access to Garage Band or iMovie, well until today.

Today MacRumours reported that Apple is in the process of updating their iWork, iMovie, and Garage Band applications to become available as a free download.

And MacRumours has said that this will be happening shortly, allowing you to download any of these apps, for free, for anyone who has an iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, or a Mac.

Pretty awesome news.
