After being available in the US for some time now, Apple has today launched their iPhone Trade in Program in their UK based retail stores, allowing users to trade in their old iPhone at an Apple store and receive credit towards the cost of a new iPhone, something that some might see as a better option than some of the current services.

Apple explained the service with the following statement:

“iPhones hold great value. So, Apple Retail Stores in the UK are launching a new program to assist customers who wish to bring in their previous-generation iPhone for reuse or recycling. In addition to helping support the environment, customers will be able to receive a credit for their returned phone that they can use toward the purchase of a new iPhone.”

You can find out how much Apple would give you for your old iPhone over on the Apple website, for an example, a 16GB iPhone 5 would get you £220 towards your next iPhone, s 32GB will get you £230 and a 64GB will get you £270 in perfect condition.
