The UK based retailer Argos and eBay have today announced that they will be partnering with each other to launch a new Click & Collect service in the UK.
This comes after the two successfully trailed the idea with 50 eBay sellers in 150 stores across the UK.
Argos say that this will now roll out to 650 stores throughout the UK, and will allow eBay users to collect purchases from eBay directly from an Argos store, rather than having to get it delivered to their house.
Argos say that the idea of this is to stop users having to collect parcels from delivery depots, or rearrange with the courier if they might be out during the day.
“The shopper experience couldn’t be simpler: buyers simply choose ‘Click and Collect at Argos’ as the delivery option in their eBay checkout and select their most convenient Argos store.”
When an item is ready for collection buyers will receive a message, after which they may proceed to the selected Argos store and then collect it from the dedicated point in the store.
This service will however only work with certain enrolled sellers who will need to make sure they can prepare orders for dispatch to the stores.
Argos say that by the end of 2014 around 65,000 eBay sellers will offer items for collection at Argos.
