Bohemia Interactive has today announced the release of the Arma 3 beta for PC, available for free for those who had access to the Arma 3 alpha, or from Steam or the Bohemia Interactive Store for £29.99.

Those who already played the beta will be able to update their alpha software via Steam.

The beta version of the game will include 20 km² island of Stratis, 20 weapons, 18 vehicles, three factions, eight showcase missions, four multiplayer scenarios, four challenges, the scenario editor and modding support.

When the full game is released this will expand to over 290 km² of map, over 40 weapons to shoot and over 20 vehicles to drive.
