As you may already know, we like to feature a lot of Kickstarter projects on the site, from space exploration to the latest idea for a set of headphones, and today is no different as we just come across something rather clever on the site.

Called the MiiPC, it’s a new mini PC that is safe for kids to surf the web, play games and even watch a video, running Android each family member gets their own app screen, which can include a password to keep the kids out, however if that’s not enough, they are also planning to launch a companion app for the MiiPC, that will allow parents to monitor what their kids are doing in real-time.

The PC runs Android 4.2, a Marvell 1.2Ghz dual core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB upgradable storage, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, an ethernet port and even a 1080p HDMI output.

The MiiPC needs funding to succeed, for which they are seeking $50,000 in total, at the time of writing this, they had just overstepped this by $1,000 so any pledges now is just extra money for them to make it better, the MiiPC is available on their KickStarter page for $99.
