Google have today updated their maps application with over 9,500 pictures of the Grand Canyon as part of Google Trekker, a new foot-based Street View project, which aims to use the same 360 degree panoramic camera techniques you will find with the normal car camera.

This will allow them to map out anywhere where a backpacker, trike or snowmobile ca go, and add images of locations where normal transport can’t normally reach.

The 9,500 recent images of the Grand Cayon means that the company now has more than 75 miles of the Canyon mapped out.
