Natwest and RBS have today confirmed that they will be issuing contactless cards to over 2 million customers from April till next year, this follows from Barclays who debuted the service the UK last year.

Customers who are eligible will receive a contactless card in the mail from Visa, which will become standard from April after the banks have finished trails.

Contactless payments are already accepted at over 150,000 terminals in the UK and 590,000 in total across Europe, however by the end of 2013 Visa expect this to be used by more than 70 million people.
