BlackBerry have today confirmed that the Android runtime environment within BlackBerry 10 will soon be updated to the new Jelly Bean version of the OS.

The environment basically allows you to run Android based applications on BlackBerry 10 and is currently only running Android Gingerbread. The update will however bring Jelly Bean based apps and was confirmed during the BlackBerry Jam developer conference in Amsterdam.

There’s no release date for the update yet, but we should hear more soon.
