About a month ago HTC revealed that they would be joining with Beats in order to make the first range of beats enabled phones, well today they stuck to that promise and unveiled their latest Sensation smartphone, called the HTC Sensation XE.
The Sensation XE has a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, which is up from the 1.2 GHz the old Sensation had, alongside this HTC have also said it has four times more storage inbuilt making it the perfect multimedia device, but probably the best and most important feature is the integrated Beats by Dr. Dre audio technology. Check out the specs:
HTC Sensation XE Specs
- Android Gingerbread
- 1.5GHz Processor
- 768MB’s of RAM
- 4GB of internal storage
- MicroSD expansion for up to 32GB’s of storage
- 4.3 inch Super LCD display
- 8-megapixel rear facing camera
- VGA front facing camera
- 1730mAh battery
As well as this the Sensation XE also comes with its own remote control, as well as the usual headphones and charger, HTC’s Jason Mackenzie, said in his statement that the new Sensation will offer customers the best possible mobile experience:
“The audio quality is a very important factor in mobile sound experience and we are working to push the boundaries not only for speech reception, but also for music, video and games up fully. The HTC sensation XE delivers a truly incredible audio experience and is a further proof that we want to offer customers the best possible mobile experience.”
Maybe I am just a bit of a Grinch don’t get me wrong I love this device and did from the minute I looked at that picture above, but I do feel HTC have included a few half-hearted features, the main one being that the phone still only has 768MB of RAM, which I would have thought given technology today they would upgrade alongside the processor to at least 1GB’s of RAM.
Apart from that I really like the device, some might not like the VGA front-facing camera but that doesn’t really bother me as I generally use the back which has brilliant 8 megapixels. The HTC Sensation will be first launched in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific near the end of September, and will set you back €589 (approx. $806/£510).
What do you think of the HTC Sensation XE? Are you going to buy one?
