After a long wait and a few teases along the way, Asus has finally announced it next generation ZenWatch, the ZenWatch 3.

It is the first wearable from Asus that features a round case and display, built with jewellery-grade 316L stainless steel with a finish in either silver, gunmetal or rose gold. Around the smartwatches round edges there’s also a total of three crown buttons that allow for quick access to frequently used functions.

Asus will also be offering the smartwatch with a number of customization choices for the case and strap colours, with more than 50 watch faces to choose from, and access to a number of widgets that you can add to the watch’s face, including weather, battery life, call notifications and more.

This is all managed from the ZenWatch Manager smartphone app, but can also be paired with the FaceDesigner app for complete watch face customisation.

The ZenWatch 3 will also come with a range of fitness features that allows you to track your steps, activities and allow you to tell when you have been stationary for too long, it also has an IP67 rating allowing it to be good for those occasions when it rains.

The smartwatch will also come with a 1.39-inch display that has a 400 x 400-pixel resolution and AMOLED technology. Inside there’s also a Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, with HyperCharge technology that will charge up to 60 percent of the smartwatch’s battery in just 15 minutes.

Asus say that the battery should also last as long as two days, but you can buy and additional battery pack for an extra 40 percent.

Asus has not yet announced any pricing or availability details for the ZenWatch 3, but we will let you know when they do.
