During their press conference ASUS announced the Zenfone 2 today, featuring a Brushed metal finish design and a body that is just 3.9mm thin.

In terms of specs, the Zenfone has a 5.5 inch 1080p IPS display, a 13MP rear-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture and what ASUS claims to be the world’s best HDR technology.

There’s also a 5MP camera on the front.

The Zenfone 2 also has a 64-bit Super Quad Core Intel Atom Z3580 processor, and claims to be the world’s first and only smartphone to have 4GB of RAM inside, with what ASUS calls Dual Channel architecture that is said to boost performance by up to 4 times.

Inside there’s also LTE Cat 4 technology, and the ability to add dual SIMs.

ASUS also says that the Zenfone 2 can charge the 3,000 mAh battery in just 38 minutes according to the company

It also runs with ASUS’ ZenUI, which will run on top of the Android 5.0 Lollipop platform providing ASUS’ own design and applications. With ZenUI users can customise their launcher, use various gestures to launch applications and extra ASUS features and more.

ASUS have also built in both a Kids Mode a private mode that will allow users to look away their personal files and run both work and personal apps and files separately.

The Zenfone 2 will be available from March for $199.
