Samsung set the date for their Gear smartwatch as August 31st earlier this week, and now it seems that Asus want to take on Samsung with the announcement, also revealing that they will be hosting an event for their own new smartwatch also on August 31st.

It is expected that Asus will announce the ZenWatch 3 this week, which will feature a circular watch face instead of a square one according to rumours.

Asus revealed this event on their Twitter earlier today, emphasising the word “time”, hinting at the expected announcement.

At the moment, we don’t know anything more than what we have said already.

That said, we will learn a lot more about the device on August 31st if the expectations are true. And when/if we do then we will let you know about it, right here on TechNutty.
