The BeoPlay A9 by Bang and Olufsen is a new speaker that looks more like a drum lid then your everyday speaker, with a large circular dish design, the BeoPlay A9 features a 3.1 reflex loudspeaker system with five dedicated speaker units and amps, the BeoPlay A9 outputs 480 Watts of massive audio power.

Alongside its design, the A9 also features an iPhone and Android dock, with both AirPlay and DLNA capabilities, but that’s not all.

Volume is controlled with a simple swipe of the hand across its touch sensor, or mute by resting your hand on the top. Alongside the dock and wireless capabilities the A9 features a line-in and a USB port for additional devices.

Inside the A9 there’s two 3/4 inch tweeters and 2 3 inch midrange units, all of which are driven by separate 80 watt class D amplifiers, for great highs and middle tones, there’s also an 8 inch bass unit which is powered by its own 160 Watt class D amplifier, all of which can be controlled with three pre-set sound modes for wall, corner or freestanding positions.

The BeoPlay A9 is available today in silver, white, black, red, green or brown for $2,699 USD.
