Bang and Olufsen today revealed their first pair of wireless earphones, called the Beoplay H5, they have been designed for anyone with an active lifestyle, who wants to listen to music at the same time. They might also be a good option if the iPhone does lose the 3.5mm jack.

The H5 was designed by Jakob Wagner and uses B&O’s Signature Sound, with a custom sleek design and tuned sound profiles for a “best-in-class sound experience in all situations.”

Senior Vice President of B&O PLAY, Henrik Taudorf Lorensen explained more about the earphones with the following:

“Beoplay H5 is the most versatile product we have ever made. It is designed to be worn and used effortlessly, and with the integrated app to change the tonality to what you are doing, it will be a device that enriches the everyday lives of people worldwide. Combined with an active, fashionable and dynamic design that complements your active wear as well as your best outfit, we are very proud to broaden our range of wireless headphones with Beoplay H5”.

You will also be able to customise the sound that is outputted from the Beoplay H5, configurable via the Beoplay app on smartphones or on the Apple Watch, users cab simply select a profile for their activity, such as working out, commuting, listening to podcasts or simply relaxing. They can also adjust the tone and staging via the B&O PLAY ToneTouch interface.

Interestingly, the earphones also come with a magnet built into each earpiece, allowing you to click then around your neck and hopefully prevent losing them. Once you do click them together, they will automatically power down.

Connecting the two earpieces is a cable that is encased in a braided textile that has been molded inside the rubber to prevent dirt and sweat from getting in. the housing of the earphones has also been textured with rubber and polymer for sweat and moisture resistant.

Inside of the Beoplay H5, you will find a 6.4mm dynamic speaker, a small electromagnetic transducer and a Bluetooth 4.2 chip with Digital Sound Processing that allows for dynamic sound tuning.

The H5 will be sold with a charger and a carrying pouch for £199 in black and dusty rose , and you can also get a separate charger for the wireless charger for £29.
