In an effort to clear some stock, Barnes * Noble have today announced a significant price reduction in its 7 and 9 inch tablets, the Nook HD and the Nook HD+.

The Nook HD will be priced at will be priced at £79 for the 8GB version and £99 for the 16GB, whilst the Nook  HD+ will be priced at £129 for the 16GB version and £149 for the 32GB, both available on while stock lasts.

This is the second time the retailer/ manufacturer has dropped the price, reducing the cost for both devices back in July.

Jim Hilt, managing director at Barnes & Noble says this about their reasoning:

“As families across the UK prepare for students to go back to school, Nook has made digital reading even more affordable by lowering prices on the Nook HD and Nook HD+ tablets, we are committed to the cause of literacy and learning in the UK and this new pricing on our highly versatile tablets will bring a world of books, apps, films, music and more to customers at an unbeatable value.”
