Warner have today confirmed that they are currently developing a new game series for Batman: Arkham that will be due for release this financial year.

Apart from the date that’s all we know, Time Warner’s CFO and Chief Administrative officer, John K Martin said the following about the game however.

“[We] have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman: Arkham franchise, so all in all, we expect Warners to post another very strong year in 2013. And with a little luck, the year should be as good or maybe even a little bit better than 2012.”

Rumors are already circulating, with VG24/7 claiming the game will be the one that Asylum and Rocksteady Games were rumored to be working on last summer, which would be set in the 1950s focusing on Batman’s first encounter with The Joker.
