Game Informer have just revealed the third game to be released in the Batman: Arkham series, named Batman: Arkham Orgins, the title will be a prequel to both of the previous games, featuring a young version of Batman as he makes his way through Gotham city.

Announced for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC and scheduled for an October 25th release date, there isn’t too long to wait for the game either.

There’s no news if the game will be making its way to next generation consoles yet.

The game will be developed by Warner Bros Games, Montreal who will be taking the job from the previous developer, Rocksteady Studios, who describe it’s duties as “standing on the shoulders of giants”.

Alongside which the developer also announced the release of their first ever handheld game in the series, dubbed Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, the game will launch for the 3DS on the same day as the console version, offering a separate experience to that found in Arkham Origins, the game is being developed by Armature Studio.
