The BBC have today revealed that BBC Two HD will be launching on March 26th, replacing the current BBC HD channel as part of some cutbacks announced in 2011, this will however mean viewers can watch shows such as Top Gear and QI in full HD.

Janice Hadlow, Controller of BBC Two said the following about the channel introduction, “BBC One HD has already proved to be highly valued by our audiences and I’m delighted that we’re able to follow this with the launch of BBC Two in HD, the launch of BBC Two HD will allow us to showcase more of our programmes at their very best – helping to highlight our commitment to high-quality, engaging and ambitious programmes on BBC Two.”

Of course this will mean that the BBC HD channel will no longer be available.
