Today the BBC announced the launch of a brand new version of their iPlayer Radio app that has been designed for use in your car.

It is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and is available to download on both of those systems from today. Once downloaded, the app will allow users to find and discover new radio shows from the BBC in your car.

You can also save your favourite radio shows and series from the app, and those that you have already saved in the mobile version will automatically appear in this version.

The BBC has announced a brand new version of its iPlayer Radio app, designed specifically for use in the car when connected to an Android Auto or Apple CarPlay system all from a feature called Listen Later, which allows you to add shows to your personalised playlist.

From that playlist, you can listen to the items that you have installed at a later date.

You can also download shows that you can listen to when you don’t have a signal.

From the player, you can skip episodes and move forward and backwards within recordings by 20 seconds by a single touch and of course, if you are using Android Auto, you can also use your voice to control the playback.

You can pick up the iPlayer Radio app from the Android Auto app from an Android device that is running Android 5.0 or higher, or from an Android Auto head unit.
