Via its Twitter account, T-Mobile UK has today announced that BlackBerry Messenger will be launching on iOS and Android on June 27th, a launch that was first announced during the BlackBerry Live conference earlier in May.

[Update] (Weirdly it seems that the Tweet is no longer showing on their account, link still works to it however.)

The messenger will work on any iPhone running on iOS 6 or above, or on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich+, depending on your preference.

The app will be available for free, granting similar features to that of any other BlackBerry phone, but some may be missing at launch. Individual andmulti-user chats will be possible accross multiple platforms, however there will be no voice or video calling from launch.
