BlackBerry may be starting to move out of the mobile space, however that hasn’t stopped them from doing well in some areas of it, today revealing that their BBM application now has a total of 113 million users, 85 million of which are active users on a monthly basis.

Alongside the announcement of these numbers, BlackBerry also revealed their fourth quarter earnings results.

“We’re seeing a solid uptick in multi platform users, driving growth in total registration,” the BlackBerry CEO, John Chen revealed, “Like last quarter, growing the BBM user base is a top priority and we have a number of initiatives driving this.”

He also revealed that the company does have some plans to monetise BBM, although as of yet none of these plans are ready to be revealed to the public.

Chen also revealed new details on Channels, which he said has doubled in numbers over the past four months, rising from 200,000 to 500,000. He also mentioned that users read 11.5 posts per day.
