Alongside the confirmation of the Apple Beats acquisition, Beats also announced a new headphone range to soon hit the market, dubbed the Beats Solo 2.

The headphones will follow on from the companies previous Beats Solo range, and will provider a wider sound with improved clarity, in fact the company says that although they look similar to their predecessor, the headphones are more dynamic than before.

The design has however had a few new changes, firstly the frame is more curved to fit the head more snugly, and secondly the earcups have been ergonomically angled for optimal comfort and sound delivery.

The Beats Solo 2s will be available in black, white, red, blue, gray and pink from June 1st, and are now available to pre-order from beatsbydre.com, where they are priced at £169.95 in the UK and $199.95 in the US.

The company also revealed that from mid-June you will also be able to pick up the Beats Studio headphones in champagne or metallic sky for £269.95, as well as the release of the Snarkitecture X Beats for $600 on June 9th.

A UK price for the latter of those has yet to be revealed.
