At CES 2017 today, Belkin unveiled two new additions to their WeMo line of smart home devices, unveiling some new additions to expand upon the capabilities of your smart home.

These new additions include the new Belkin WeMO Dimmer Switch and a smaller version of the WeMo Wi-Fi Smart Plug.

The WeMo Dimmer Switch is possibly the most interesting of the two, as an update to the original WeMo Light Switch, it allows you to control your WeMo lights and dim them, without needing a hub.

The new WeMo Dimmer Switch can also be configured to work with your existing home lighting, without the need for any of WeMo Light Bulbs.

With the switch, you will be able to programme the brightness of your lights for certain situations, such as turning it down when it gets later, turn it up when everyone is awake, etc. There’s also another mode called the Away Mode, which will allow you to cycle your lights on or off at different times of the day to make it look like you are home.

You can trigger any of these via a set of customisable long presses, such as pressing the switch for a few seconds to enter Away Mode.

The Belkin WeMo Dimmer Switch will be available in the US and Canada later this year, they haven’t revealed any pricing or availability for other regions just yet.

Alongside this, Belkin also announced a smaller version of the WeMo Wi-Fi Smart Plug.

It is pretty much the same as the old one, however, in a much smaller size. It will be available in the US and Canada later this month for $35.
