Are you still watching television with your inbuilt TV speakers? If you are then you are doing things wrong. TV speakers are notoriously terrible, especially for watching films.
To gain a better experience, you are going to need some home cinema gear either with a simple setup with something like a soundbar or anything up to a full Dolby Atmos system.
We have rounded up what we think are some of the best home cinema audio products of 2016 below, so check them out if you are interested in upgrading your home cinema experience.
Philips Fidelio B5
The Philips Fidelio B5 is one of our favourite options for getting into upgrading your home cinema, that’s because it is one simple kit that combines a full 5.1 surround sound audio system with a soundbar and subwoofer, simply snap off the two wireless side speakers and you have a full Dolby Digital 5.1 system.
If you already have a Sonos system in your home, or if you are looking to start building a Sonos system then we would definitely recommend the Sonos Playbar soundbar, which works with the Sonos multi-room system with wireless surround sound.
Onkyo’s HT-S3700 home theatre system is a pretty cool piece of kit that includes pretty much everything that you need to get going, with an AV reciever and a 6-piece speaker system.
If you want something on a budget than the Sony BDV-E3100 is a pretty cool kit, featuring a total output power of 1,000 Q with the ability to play back 2D and 3D video via the included Blu-ray player.
Onkyo Dolby Atmos 5.1.2 Channel AV Receiver and Speakers
To get started with the Dolby Atmos audio technology then you should definitely check out Onkyo’s system, which is compatible with the Atmos system and includes a 5.1.2 AV reciever and speaker system.
LG’s SH7B soundbar system is pretty great for the price, it sounds fantastic and at the price of just £240 it’s great if you are looking for a soundbar and subwoofer combo on a budget.
Samsung’s HW-K950 is the most expensive home cinema kit in this round-up, but for that price you get a lot of features, most notably it packs Dolby Atmos into a title system that includes a soundbar, satellite speakers, and a subwoofer.
If you want something simplier than all of these and cheaper than all of these then you should check out the Razer Leviathan, which is a 5.1 Bluetooth gaming and music soundbar that takes up little space but delivers big sound.
