BlackBerry sent out an email to subscribers of the BBM Music service earlier today, announcing that they will be shutting down the service on June 2nd, after only being available for just of a year, announced back in August 2011.

April will be the last month users will be charged for the service, after which tracks will be grayed out and become unplayable.

In case you didn’t know, the service allowed subscribers to select 50 songs and download them for a monthly fee, alongside the tracks your friends have added.

Upon closing the service, BlackBerry recommends users to subscribe to the Rdio service, giving users a 30-day voucher for the service.
