Bang & Olufsen’s B&O Play sub-brand has today unveiled the latest speaker to be added to their line. Called the Beoplay M5, it is a wireless speaker that has been designed to play music from a range of wireless sources, including Bluetooth, Chromecast, AirPlay, Spotify Connect, or Bang & Olufsen’s Beolink Multiroom.

The speaker is priced at £529 in the UK, providing you with a great wireless experience that doesn’t require any kind of dedicated app to get going.

The Beoplay M5 also features a sleek design that plays audio from all directions and can be positioned anywhere, especially due to its 7.5-inches tall and 6.5-inches in diameter. At the top, there’s an aluminium volume knob that provides you with volume controls and the ability to play/pause music.

Of course, because it is so small, it’s not going to provide you with the soundscape that you would get from a fuller sized speaker like Sonos’ Play:3, however, it is a pretty great-looking speaker that has a decent bass response from a small form-factor Bluetooth speaker with added extras.

That said for £529 it is quite expensive for what it is.

The Beoplay M5 is now available from the B&O store, their company website, and through selected third-party retailers.
