Passbook has taken quite a long time to be full integrated into the App Store, with only a small selection of apps supporting it at launch, at first it didn’t seem like something that would catch on.

However more and more apps are now starting to integrate the functionality into their apps, and now it’s staring to gain some traction.

Most recently, British Airways updated their app with the new functionality, allowing users to store their boarding passes within the Passbook app.

Compatible with all devices running iOS 6.0 and above, the app now allows users to quickly bring up boarding passes at over 100 airport’s worldwide.

And that’s not all, as the company says they will be updating the app within the next couple of weeks to add direct links to passes from the  lock screen, for now however they will only be available through the passbook app.

BA will be sending a message to all users once this feature is live, and for users running iOS 5.0 and above, they say that they will be launching another compatible app soon.
