BT announced a couple of days ago that they are currently testing 10GBps broadband at an electronics business in Cornwall, UK named Arcol UK LTD.

The broadband will run in tandem with the company’s existing 220MBps service through the same fibre optic cable but will work in the totally different way thanks to a new technology called Tens of Gigabits on a Passive Optical Network or ZGPON for short.

The new technology which was developed by ZTE and BT OpenReach allow the business to be the first in the country to achieve these record-breaking speeds, but hopefully this might be rolled out further in the future.
