The Call of Duty: Ghosts: Onslaught DLC has been available for some time, however it may not have been as popular as Activision hoped, as the developer has already made the DLC available for Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners for free this weekend only, available from Friday 21 March up to Monday 24 March.

Users on  both consoles can download the DLC for free and play it during the weekend.

The DLC adds a ton of new content to the game, including the first part of a story campaign for the Extension mode, with four new multiplayer maps alongside it, including Fog, Bay View, Containment and Ignition, and then finally there’s a new weapon called the Maverick, which is a sniper rifle/ assault rifle combination.

After the trial the DLC will deactivate and the user will have to pay the usual fee of £11.59.
