Activision has today announced a brand new Call of Duty game for iOS, called Call of Duty: Strike Team which will be priced at $6.99 (around £4) and is the first mobile game from Activision’s new mobile development studio, The Blast Furnace.

Led by the game developers Mark Washbrook and Gordon Hall, the games main feature allows you to switch between run and gunning gameplay and coordinating squad attacks, also allowing you the control squad of up to four Strike Team members and customise skills and loadouts.

Here’s the game’s description from the App Store:

“The year is 2020. Tensions run high amongst the world’s superpowers. In a surprise attack, the U.S. finds themselves in a war with an unknown enemy. Your mission is to lead a Joint Special Operations Team in a global effort to hunt down those responsible.”

There’s also a story-driven single player campaign and a single player Survival Mode and includes the weapons, benefits, ranks and prestige levels available in previous CoD games.
