Recently Snap inc launched their pair of high-tech Snapchat Spectacles that all you to record videos from Snapchat with your glasses.

Today Rochester Optical unveiled their own product for these Spectacles, allowing you to add prescription lenses to them and allowing you to wear them and still be able to see.

Previously Rochester Optical made prescription lenses for the Google Glass, Microsoft HoloLens, and more, so they have some experience in this field.

They said the following about them:

Snapchat’s Spectacles feature rounded cutouts in each lens corner, which are difficult for some optical labs to accommodate. Rochester Optical invests in the latest optical equipment including 5-axis edging machinery, digital free-form surfacing equipment, and in-house AR coating to offer the most innovative lens products available.  Having a Research and Development division and skilled optical craftsmen on staff allows Rochester Optical to solve unique design challenges and offer creative optical solutions.

Patrick Ho, CEO of Rochester Optical comments: “We’ve been working with heads-up displays for a long time, and Spectacles are just a form of smart glasses without the heads-up-display. We already cut similar notches in lenses for Google Glass to accommodate the HUD, so cutting rounded notches in the lens corners to work around the Spectacle cameras is very similar.”

The new prescription lenses will be available from their website for $99. You can find out more about it at the source link below.
