Today Samsung announced that they have finally brought their own payment alternative to their latest smartwatch, the Gear S3.

With this launch, you will be able to use the Gear S3 to pay for anything from your weekly shopping up to your upcoming trip on the tube with Samsung Pay, Samsung’s alternative to Apple Pay and Android Pay.

You can enable Samsung Pay on the Gear S3 today with the following instructions:

  • Make sure that you have a smartphone that’s running Android 4.4 KitKat or higher.
  • Update the Samsung Pay app on your smartphone to the latest version, or install it if you don’t have it already.
  • Open the app and then register your credit or debit card within it.
  • Authenticate your ID.
  • Set up your security pin.

Once that is set up and ready you will be able to make payments with your Gear S3 by tapping the watches face onto a payment terminal.

We will update you as Samsung roles this out further.
