Some time ago Nvidia said that its Shield TV Android streaming box would be the first Android TV device to come with 360-degree video support for YouTube.

Today they kept to that promise.

The YouTube app on Shield TV was updated today with support for that feature along with some other improvements and changes.

With this version, you will be able to watch 360-degree videos on your Shield TV from YouTube and move around them with the Shield controller, allowing you to view them from any angle.

On top of that, Google also launched a range of other changes with a newly refreshed user interface that has streamlined the menu on the left-hand side of the app alongside the movement of the account holder to the top-left hand side of the screen.

They have also removed the red loading bar from video playback, adding autoplay as an option in the settings instead of switching on by default and they have also added thumbnail previews as you scroll across the bar so you can see what you are skipping to.

You can get started with it by updating your YouTube app on your Nvidia Shield today.
