Ahead of MWC 2016, Cat’s (Caterpillar) new rugged smartphone has been reported about on The Verge.

According to the site, the device that has been dubbed the Cat S60 will featuring technology from the thermal imaging company, Flir. Supposedly with the aim of allowing construction workers to do stuff like find leaks, gauge surface temperatures and more with their smartphone.

The Verge goes on to state that the S60 will feature a 4.7 inch 720p display, with a Snapdragon 617 processor, 3GB of RAM and a 3,800 mAh battery.

It is also said to feature a 13MP and 5MP camera, capable of recording and taking photos with a 640 x 480 pixel resolution.

It is also said to feature a rugged build that allows it to be water resistant up to 5 metres, with drop protection and Gorilla Glass 4.

According to The Verge, the Cat S60 will launch in May for $600, we should find out more about it during MWC 2016 next week.
