Today Google pushed a new update for the iOS of the Chrome app.

Dubbed Chrome 56, the update is available for iOS users today, bringing a range of new features that should make the app a bit handier with features a QR code scanner as well as a redesigned iPad switcher.

The QR code scanner is pretty interesting as it means that you don’t need to download a third-party app, but it is only compatible with the 3D Touch compatible iPhones, allowing you can quickly access a QR reader via the 3D Touch menu for Chrome, allowing you to open up scanned links right through the Chrome browser.

Anyone who has an older iPhone will also get the QR reader functionality over Spotlight, just search for “QR.”

To top that off, the new version of Chrome for iOS will also come with a redesigned iPad tab switcher that they say will make it easier to open sites on the browser.

You can download the update today via the source link or right from your iOS device.
