The list of cinemas to show the 48fps version of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey have today been revealed in the UK, which is the first in the new trilogy based on the J.R.R Tokien novel, directed by Peter Jackson.
Because the film was originally shot in HFR at 48 frame per second, (twice the rate of ordinary films you will have to watch the film at a specific location which has the available tech to watch the film in all its intended glory.
Peter Jackson claims that this new speed will help reduce blur and improve clarity within the films 3D action scenes, which has received a mixed view from various critics.
In the UK you will be able to view the 48fps version at both Vue and Odeon cinemas across the country, but it will only be available at specific locations that you can find in the list below:
Bristol Cribbs Causeway
Birmingham Broadway Plaza
Dundee (Douglas Field)
Oxford Magdalen St
Uxbridge the Chimes
Cineworld have also confirmed that they will be showing the film in this new frame rate, but have yet to confirm the locations for which.
