After being available in a private beta for some time on Android, Microsoft’s Cortana virtual assistant is now available for Android users in a public beta, but unfortunately only for those who reside in the US.

This comes after Microsoft was rumoured to launch Cortana for Andorid earlier this year

Despite the integration with Android most features are native to Windows 10, however Microsoft say that it still offers a good set of features for Android users with notifications for sports, flights, weather and more.

As it is a beta version it will contain a lot of bugs, however Microsoft will be allowing users to sign up to the beta at this website.

Once you sign up and get the app you can replace Google Now with Cortana, just press the Android home button and you will be able to use Microsoft’s Cortana instead of Google Now.

At the moment Cortana for Android is now available for those in the US only, available to download from the Google Play Store.

Microsoft has said that it is planning to roll out the beta to more regions soon, but did not reveal specifics.
