Since original announcement back in 2010 Cut The Rope has become extremely popular, with several versions of the game now available the game has surpassed 400 million downloads worldwide and received around 60 million active users for the first half of 2013, Zeptolab, the games developers, have also mentioned that players are now cutting ropes at a pace of almost 42,000 a minute.

Due to this success Zeptolab has now announced its plans to release a sequel to the game this holiday season, which will be dubbed Cut The Rope 2.

We remain dedicated to our mission: examining the science of fun,” said ZeptoLab CEO Misha Lyalin in a press statement. “That means building experiences that players love. Cut the Rope 2 is a massive step forward for the game. Amazing graphics, gameplay and characters drive a brand new experience that fans are going to love.”

Zeptolab didn’t mention an exact date for the sequels release, apart from the earlier announcement that it will launch this holiday season.
